In an unstable economy with steady climbing inflation, one will be hard-pressed to have another source of income. Sadly as a software engineer, especially an employed one, your productivity time is allocated primarily to the active projects. It is important to add value for the value you receive. Hence I will always state that it is important to take care of the projects you are paid for first, before diversification. It is important to also have some work-life balance. If you however are running short on income, and need a backup, the most viable options are things that will need less of your time to manage. This is because creating another source of income will take you from your private time. If you do not find a way to limit how much time it consumes, your mental health will be under pressure. Burnout is real, I have suffered from it before. The first backup income I am going to try is Amazon KDP. I am not free to write much. I decided to create a Sudoku game. Knowing that I could not start creating many sudoku games and add to a book, due to time constraints, I opted to use the skills I already had. I built a console application that can generate multiple Sudoku games based on the percentage of difficulty, and then arrange them in printable document. This console application can be found here: https://lnkd.in/gHg5deXg So far I have been able to create puzzle books; you can check them out on Amazon. 1. https://lnkd.in/g-Vm2wdx 2. https://lnkd.in/gSQMVuDz 3. https://lnkd.in/g6w39Nsw Now I have come to witness another problem we developers have, Marketing and sales.
